Read more in notebook: blue blanket

I finished the blue blanket but I didn't have time to take a picture before I left so I'll take one when I get back.  It's smaller than a blanket for a twin bed but a good size for relaxing on the couch with.  It came out feeling pretty nice but I'm worried that the yarn won't hold up well.  We'll see, maybe Joann's will suprise me.

Read more in notebook: lacy legwarmers

I finished the leg warmers, I hope I made them the same.  I couldn't quite figure out when I switched needle sizes and the cryptic notes I scribbled to myself on the pattern that I thought would make sense to me later didn't.  Anyway I didn't bring them with me so I'll put up a photo when I get back home.  Overall I'm happy with how they came out but I wish I'd change the cuff size to match the picture - small cuff on the bottom and larger on top.

Read more in notebook: cotton summer sweater

I lengthened the arms for this sweater but possibly not quite enough.  I guess they must have intended for the sweater to be really wide and quite off the shoulder since I added 4 or 5 inches and they are still almost short.  Anyway I sewed it up and weaved in the ends and I'm happy with how it came out.  Hopefully I'll get around to taking some photos before I spill something on it and it's not white any more.

Read more in notebook: decadent chevron sweater

This sweater is done and I'm happy with how it came out although it is a bit brighter than what I usually make. I think I'm happy using texture to spice up my projects rather than color but it was fun to try out once. I left off the stringy bits and flowers around the collar though, I think just the stripes are enough.

Read more in notebook: lace and cable top

This project is no longer the lace and cable top since I was worried that it wasn't coming out the right size.  I think I was optimistically stretching it a bit to get it to look the right size but I was worried it wasn't actually going to stretch that much when I finished the project so I ripped it out (and wound the yarn back into balls with my nifty winder).  I really don't like gaging lace.  Anyway, I only have about 500 yards of the bamboo yarn so I'm looking into another lacy sort of project, but this time I'll hopefully be more confident that it will fit.

Read more in notebook: blue gull stitch cardigan

I pretty much followed the instructions from the magazine pattern for this project.  I was a bit unhappy with the curling of the neck edges although that seems to have come out a bit with blocking.  Also, this was one of my earlier sweaters and I was too excited to get it finished and I made the arms a little short.  Cables on the sleeves really do shorten the sleeves - tugging them to convince yourself they're long enough is a bad idea :).

Read more in notebook: blue gull stitch cardigan

This was a quick project and I was happy with how it looks even though I used Lion Brand Woolese.  In fact I used two strands at once which means the project went quickly but this sweater is really warm.  Also it is a bit scratchy at the neck since the front edge of the neck is so high.
