Here is a closeup of the cable pattern.  I wasn't to crazy about the asymitry of the cables but I decided to go ahead and follow the pattern.  The color in this picture is not qutie right but I wanted the stitches to show up.  The sweater is actually pink.

2 small changes

I made two small changes to this pattern.  Because I made it out of wool and intended it to be a winter sweater I lenthened the sleeves on this pattern.  Also, I wanted to have complete repeats of the cable patterns so on the sleeves and body of the sweater I stopped the smaller cable pattern a bit before the edge so that I would have the right length without partial repeats.  Also, I think in the pattern for the smaller size I had to lengthen the body to get complete repeats of that center cable pattern.

I think I pretty much followed the pattern on this one.  I used an acrylic yarn since I started it back before I knew about the wonder of natural fibers but I would like to make it again since I really like it and I wear it all the time.   I like the drape of this pattern - partially because of the lacy stripes and partly because the yarn is a bit heavy so that makes it hang down a bit.  I also like the asymmetry of it but it doesn't show up particularly well since it's black.

I made this top towards the beginning of my knitting career  and I'm happy with how it came out even though I used a synthetic yarn. I didn't quite understand negative ease back then so I might make it a bit tighter if I made it again to show off the pattern a bit better.

Finished!

This project is finally finished!  I finished knitting a while ago but I wanted to put a bit of elastic around the top edge just to be save.  I finally did that and now this project is done.  Other than that I don't think I made any modifications.

This is a bottom-up raglan sweater that I designed myself.  I wanted to try out a raglan and I also wanted to make something warm a cozy out of Lion Brand Homespun.  Of course, if I wanted something warm and cozy now I would probably choose a superwash wool.  I ribbed the whole thing to try to give it a bit of artificial shape but the yarn is so bulky that the rib doesn't show much.

I also added a bit of detail with some buttons on the right shoulder

I got one sleeve caught on something the other day and it stretched out a bit although it's not nearly as long now as when i first stretched it past the end of my fingers :)

This sweater was from a Knit.1 magazine but in the magazine it was stripped and I just made it solid.  I'm happy with how it turned out, although the yarn isn't particularly nice and it doesn't have much shaping.  I hope to make another  one some time soon with nicer yarn and a few more cable or lace details.
